Dollar Academy Combined Cadet Force
FIRST AID SUCCESS

The Dollar Academy Combined Cadet Force First Aid Team has completed its most successful season ever. Between June and October, their captain Bethan Collier (Form 5) along with team mates, Robbie Jones (Form IV), Robert Henson (Form III) and Gail Scott (Form III) have participated in five separate events under the guidance of their trainer, Mrs Tracy Scott.
At Drumshorleand near Edinburgh in June, they won the CCF Scottish Competition for the fifth year in succession and for the first time they won the Scottish Inter Cadet Service Competition. Most recently, at Sandhurst, they won the CCF National Competition for a record fifth time, came second in the Inter Cadet Services Competition and then third in the St Johns Ambulance Young Grand Prior- the premier youth First Aid Competition in the United Kingdom. In the Young Grand Prior our squad came up against St Johns Ambulance, St Andrews and Cross of Malta amongst other youth organisations.
Our cadets also picked up two individual awards with Cpl Robbie Jones winning the Highest Reserve Score and L/Cpl Robert Henson winning the Scott Quaich for the highest individual score at the Young Grand Prior.
This is also the first year that we have entered a Young Adult team consisting of WOI Callum Jones, S/Sgt Hattie Sire and Sgt Blair Dick. Despite limited time and preparation they acquitted themselves well and achieved a respectable placing in the St Johns Ambulance Young Adult Grand Prior.
