Recent examination results figures published by the Glasgow Herald have ranked Dollar Academy as the best performing school (at Higher) with boarders in Scotland.
Pupils at the prestigious Clackmannanshire boarding and day school bettered all previous school records with 62% of all passes at Grade A. The overall pass rate of 95% pass rate at Grade A to C, compares with a national average of 75.2%. A total of 38 pupils at Dollar achieved 5 or more straight As in their Higher results.
“We’re delighted with this achievement”, said Dollar Rector David Knapman. “All our pupils worked exceptionally hard with great support from their teachers and parents. We have a long history of academic success; the children here have a lot to live up to but they have done themselves proud. ”
Many parents from across Scotland are choosing a boarding school for their child’s exam critical years, and these results are a testament to the purposeful learning environment that exists at Dollar. The boarding environment also provides sport, recreation, art and drama, so there is plenty of opportunity for pupils to excel outwith the classroom, and fantastic preparation for the challenges of university and beyond.
