Dollar Academy VLE (Virtual Learning Environment)

Our VLE offers full access to a CC4 School Desktop for remote working and gives instant access to published virtual Applications, such as MS Office 2010, without the need to have these applications installed.

You would choose to use a CC4 School Desktop when you need access to all of the School’s network drives and/or multiple software applications.
You would choose to use a virtual Application when you need quick and simple access to a single application and your My Documents folder (N: drive).

The VLE is accessible on any modern internet connected computer and most SmartPhones.

Important: If you use IE 9 as your default web browser you MUST add the VLE website address to your Trusted Sites. You only need to do this once. To do this;

In IE 9 click on the Cog/Wheel icon in the top right of the browser window (or just click on Tools if the Toolbar is visible).
Select Internet Options.
Click on the Security tab.
Click on Trusted Sites.
With Trusted Sites selected, click on the Sites button.
‘Add this website to the zone’ should already be populated with ‘https://vle.dollaracademy.org.uk’. If so, click Add.
Click Close then Apply then OK to close the Internet Options window.

Note:If you do not add this site, the Citrix Launcher.ica file will not open and the solution will not work for you.
