This book club meets once a month during Terms 1, 2 & 3 on Mondays 3.30-4.15pm in Y15.

We pick a good book to read, we all read the book and then meet to discuss it, act out scenes and draw pictures. Occasional author visits.
Books – Junior 1 & Junior 2
First Thursday of each month in the Junior School; 3.30 – 4.30pm, Terms 1, 2 & 3

This club will meet once a month to chat together and to discuss ideas and thoughts about a range of different books. Members of the group choose the books so everyone has the chance to explore new titles and discover new authors.

New books, old crumpled favourites, tales which transport you to the past, stories to inspire, books which make you laugh, books for contemplation…
“There is more treasure in books,” said Walt Disney, “than in all the pirates’ loot on Treasure Island.” The Book Club will provide the opportunity for imaginative and spirited discussion. Pupils can choose books for reading.

Members take turns deciding books. Recent selections include authors such as James Joyce, Tolstoy, Hemingway and Austen. Classics or modern classics are generally favoured, although the club is open-minded. For a small fee lunch can be provided, and members buy their own books. This is an excellent way to prepare for further study or just to widen your horizons.
