Charities Week
Wednesday 24th June marked the beginning of the annual Charities Week at Dollar. Aspiring drivers of all ages entered the Mario Kart Races, with competitors turning up in wacky and inventive costumes and vehicles, including a clown on a unicycle. Thursday saw the auction of the Fairygod Helpers, with volunteer sixth formers raising money by carrying out various tasks as instructed by the highest bidder. Then the annual charities committee car wash took place on Friday, with hours of hard work cleaning staff cars. It was Monday lunchtime that saw one of the most enjoyable events of the summer term: the Charities vs. Staff football match. The junior school also participated in an eagerly awaited charity football tournament: their creative outfits ranged from Winnie the Pooh characters, to a number of luminous fairies. A total of £1014 was raised through the week’s fun events, which will be given to the “Help Imogen See” campaign.
