Dollar Girls play for Scottish Schools

Five senior girls from the school were part of the Scottish Independent Schools Football Squad  in late March 2011 that performed extremely well at a regional tournament that was held at Marlborough College, coming a very close second.  The girls were Tiffany Emmett, Emma Loedal, Olivia Walsh, Kathryn Nicolson  (all Form VI) and Lyndsey McKay (Form IV).

Victory against Glenalmond!

Dollar’s First XI kept its qualification hopes alive with a victory against Glenalmond on Tuesday 1 March.  With so many first-team regulars missing from the starting line-up, fears were widespread of a repetition of the performance which saw the team go down to defeat against Gordonstoun at the end of last year. However, the younger players showed themselves equal to the challenge and emerged from this hard-fought encounter with a 3-2 victory over one of their greatest rivals. Don Morii scored what was by common consent the goal of the match, rising to meet a free kick and flicking the ball with his heel over the head of the despairing Glenalmond  goalkeeper to net the winner. Next Thursday sees the boys take on Strathallan at home in a match which they need to win if they want to have any chance of qualifying for the next round of the cup.

Scottish Schools Under 18

Blair McWhirter (Form VI) and Jamie Stenhouse (Form V) played for the Scottish Independent Schools Under 18 Football team at Tynecastle stadium, in Edinburgh on Sunday 25th April 2010 against England Independent Schools. In what turned out to be a very close match Scotland eventually ran out deserved winners 4-2.  Scotland were two goals up at half time after some opportunistic finishing and competed well against a skilful England. The opposition scored shortly after half time and then had a goal from a free kick disallowed. Whilst pushing for an equaliser England adapted their formation to four forwards and as a result inevitably left gaps at the back. Jamie Stenhouse converted from a shot / cross from the left half way through the second half and in the final few minutes Blair was bundled over in the opposition box and the penalty award was duly converted. Many congratulations to all the boys involved and many thanks to the many supporters of the team.
