Jack and the Beanstalk

The four infant classes in the Prep School spent a week totally immersed in the story of “Jack and the Beanstalk”!  They explored the story through words, sound effects and drama.  The children used different types of beans to measure, weigh and count with.  They investigated a great variety of beans and planted some of their own to take care of at home.  Decorating biscuits with a beanstalk proved to be a popular activity too!  The boys and girls managed to sew felt purses to take their own “magic” beans away at the end of the week!  The highlight of the week was World Book Day when the children impressed us all with their fabulous costumes – we saw beanstalks, Jacks galore and even a couple of magic harps.
