Prep 5 Scientists
During the Autumn Term, the Prep 5 classes have been investigating the effects of Forces in the Air and researching the importance of the Rainforests.
Windy days are eagerly awaited for the forces experiments and ingenious ways of getting up high to drop parachutes are often suggested. Not all of them pass the safety tests!
“My favourite experiment was the hovercraft. You had to get a balloon, a sports bottle top and a CD to make it work.” Poppy.

“We enjoyed adjusting our gliders to make them streamlined.” Emma

“We have done a lot of experiments with gliders, hovercraft, autogyros, parachutes, air resistance, air pressure and streamlining.”
Rebecca

“My favourite experiment was with the parachutes. You need a plastic bag, some sellotape, string and a Lego man. We dropped it from a height and experimented with different weights, heights and parachutes sizes. This showed us air resistance.” Cameron.
