Target 2.0 Competition, Edinburgh, November 2011
The school sent a team of four Advanced Higher Economics pupils (Andrew Birrell, Lewis Macdonald, Joe Palau and Callum MacMillan) to take part in the Target 2.0 Bank of England competition recently, supported by a bigger team of pupils who had helped them to put together their final presentation. The team had to present their thoughts on what the MPC Committee of the Bank should do with interest rates and Quantitative Easing (QE).
The team gave an excellent presentation, both in terms of confidence and delivery and handled some difficult questions from the panel very well. Although the team didn’t manage to win the round they should be extremely proud of how they pulled their presentation together with a small number of pupils working through the weekend before the event and how they delivered it.
