Scotland's Top Business Education Grade at Dollar

A Dollar Academy pupil has been recognised for scoring the top mark in one of this year's Business Education examinations.
Michael Green achieved 97% in the 2011 Higher Economics paper, which was the SQA's best award. This achievement has been recognised by the Scottish Business Education Association, who made a presentation in his honour on the 12th November.
Commenting on this success, Mr Mark Moore, joint Head of Business Education at Dollar Academy, said: "Michael is a hard working young man who achieved 6 Highers all at grade A in this year's exams, including this incredible mark for Economics. A delightful, modest and extremely polite young man, Michael deserves every success. We are very pleased for him."
Michael, from Causewayhead in Stirling, joined Dollar Academy in Form III. After his clean sweep of top grades in fifth form, he finished his education in June this year and was awarded the Dollar Academy Kynoch Travel Scholarship to spend a year working in Wiesentheid, Bavaria, where he is currently employed as an English Teaching Assistant. After this gap year, Michael intends to study Economics at university, possibly St Andrews or Edinburgh.
Dollar Academy has one of the biggest Business Education Departments in the UK. Economics, Administration, Business Management and Accounting are taught to pupils at all levels. There were 63 pupils at Dollar Academy submitted for this year’s Higher Economics paper; 68% of them achieved grade A. Michael's Higher Economics teacher was joint Head of Business Education Trudi Spencer, who attended the SBEA event and collected the award on his behalf.
