MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS GOT HER HEAD CHOPPED OFF: WEDNESDAY 20 MARCH TO FRIDAY 22 MARCH
This year’s Senior School Production is Liz Lochhead’s modern classic “Mary Queen of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off”. Past and present collide with drama, music and song as the story of Scotland’s most famous Queen, the ill-fated Mary (Emily Deans), unfolds.
The Church in the shape of John Knox (Euan Johnstone), the nobility Bothwell (Adam Gilbert), her husband Darnley (Max Cumming) and the powerful neighbouring Queen Elizabeth (Ellen Ormisher) all seem to conspire against her as the tale is told and sung by La Corbie (Elspeth Drysdale) and set to fiddle music played and composed by Charlie Stewart.
