MUSIC WITH TECHNOLOGY TASTER DAY

 21st January 2010

 

On Thursday 21st January thirty-six Form II pupils experienced the world of Sound Engineering in the Gibson building. Pupils sampled various sessions including making a live recording and editing a studio recording using Protools. There were also sessions on acoustics, microphone placement and studio log management. The day followed on into the evening with parents joining pupils and gaining an insight into the world of Music Technology. Senior pupils demonstrated the latest software used in the department for senior class teaching and certificate work. Form II pupils left the evening with their own folder and CD with recordings of the work they completed during the day.

 

Dollar Academy Parents’ Association kindly served refreshments and presented the Music department with a cheque for £750. This will be used to purchase a magnificent set of tubular bells.
