TECHNOLOGY
Technology is the fusion of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, the meeting of two areas of study with exciting consequence. Through project work and problem solving pupils learn the skills that will help them to shape the world in which we live. From the designing of aesthetic quality to the comprehension of function and manufacture the educational development that occurs at computer, vice and workbench enriches each pupil with a more holistic understanding of their environment.
Under the expert supervision of the staff pupils from Prep 5 all the way through to Form VI are able to be involved in all three of the Technology subjects.
Within JUNIOR TECHNOLOGY pupils are guided through project based tasks that teach them the fundamental knowledge of each subject.
The department has a thriving Young Engineer’s Club and have been developing engineering solutions to problems set in national competitions and school based activities.
Included in the school’s Young Engineer’s Club; Form III are designing, constructing and racing a Green Power Car as part of a national challenge organised by SHELL.
In conjunction with the REME section of the Combined Cadet Force a two-seater sports car is being constructed.
