CRICKET IN DOLLAR

Cricket at Dollar is played in one of the most picturesque settings in Scotland. It is a major sport at the school with a full fixture card for all teams throughout the summer term. Most year groups have A and B teams with designated practice evenings and a number of matches in the summer term. Many girls play cricket too.
The school has hosted a number of overseas touring teams over the years and the u15s undertake an annual tour to Northumberland and Durham. Preseason training for senior players starts early, after the October half-term break, and after Christmas there are regular winter nets and coaching for all age groups.
Dollar has produced a significant number of cricket internationalist at all age groups. During 2011, two Dollar boys represented Scotland at u17 level and a recent leaver will be part of the Scotland squad for the ICC u19 World Cup in Australia.
The school has excellent links with local cricket clubs in the area and recently hosted the U10 National Kwik-Cricket Tournament on behalf of Cricket Scotland.
